It's easy to enhance said videos although you might need to read the manual occasionally to follow the steps. But even after searching the web and watching the tutorials nothing shows how to make chapter titles in the menu so that you can access individual episodes without just fast forwarding through the whole thing. It's easy to capture or import video from camera or dvd. Just click the 5.1 button and you're there. I have been using this software on and off for a couple of years. I have ordered Movieplus x3 since the reviews of it claim it is much easier to use. No problem dragging them into the timeline and burning them to disc with 5.1 surround. I have been trying to make dvds of an old series called werewolf from fox that aired back in the '80s.
Using nero 7 I created chapter menus and titles in under ten minutes. What I hate: If there is a way to create chapter titles in the main menu so that you can access them in the resulting dvd I haven't found it yet. Things that I like about it are: It's easy to apply dolby 5.1 audio to your video. It should not be that difficult to do since this is an integral part of making any video. The end result is very nice if you are working with decent quality source video. The manual doesn't cover it, it only explains how to do a single title, the title of the video. It is very user friendly. Because honestly, to me, if I can't create chapter titles that I can access on the main menu then it's pretty much useless software.
I was able to do what I needed to with this program, but it sure didn't make things easy. I've had DVD menues frequently fail to save correctly, meaning I had to go back and reset everything. The sound files in imported video would frequently be misaligned with the picture. You can correct it by splitting the audio and manually adjusting it, but its not exactly fast. And its fairly prone to crashing to desktop, and the recovery file is usually helplessly corrupted. On the whole, I wouldn't recommend this product or this company's software.
After you do this you can edit the commercials out etc. I got this program to extract Movies and TV shows from DVD disc's produced with a DVR and it works very well for this, but the user's manual doesn't do a very good job of explaining how. If you want to do this, you first have to copy the *.VOB file(s) from the DVD disc and rename it with a *.MPG file type extension. The Movie Maker software works very well for making DVD's from the clips you produce. This software just takes some trial and error to get used to, I think it does a good job for the price.
Only Verisons 11 and down. I was emailed that the Product Upgrade applied to the old version that I previously bought last year 11.5.
It would install, but then the Shortcuts and exe are missing. I had to reorder this program after I reloaded my OS for the 3rd time, this product stopped working.
Be aware of Upgrades from Corel. I tried everything.
I contacted Corel and they recommended I buy a replacement of which I did. This replacement(which is the old product here)works well and have no problems with it.The major problem is with an Upgrade to this Product (VideoStudio x2) and after 2 wks of emails to Corel which have gone unanswered. The Upgrade Serial Number does not work with this product. When you go to install the Upgrade, it says its not compatible with this product.
Please be aware of this.
Almost a yrs ago I bought this Ulead VideoStudio 11.5 on sale for $27 and I hate it, use it twice to do slide show. I edit my moive with a lot of tracks and I have step up to Sony Vegas Pro 8 and now I got Vegas Pro 9. Other than that this editing program is not powerful enough to do serious editing in M2ts file. Since then I have bought Sony movie studio platnium 9 = very good and powerful program, have no problem doing editing.m2ts file but it only allowed 4 tracks. Vegas pro 8 and Pro 9 are the bomb with unlimited tracks. Love it worth every penny.
